Cabane B ist ein Kunstraum mitten im heterogenen Stadtteil VI Bümpliz. Sie wurde ursprünglich vom Pariser Architekten Jean Nouvel als Stahlkonstruktion für die Expo02 entworfen. Im ersten Halbjahr präsentiert ein unabhängiges Kurator*innen-Team der Kunstachse zeitgenössische, künstlerische Positionen. Regionale, nationale und internationale Kunstschaffende werden eingeladen, den Raum zu bespielen. Im zweiten Halbjahr wird die Cabane B zu einem öffentlichen Experimentierfeld für Studierende der benachbarten Hochschule der Künste Bern (HKB).

Cabane B schafft mit Auftritten von zeitgenössischen künstlerischen Positionen Anlass zur Auseinandersetzung und zum Austausch über Kunst. Sie ist ein Labor für ortsspezifische Auseinandersetzungen und legt den Schwerpunkt auf interaktive Kunstprojekte, Happenings und Konzerte. Cabane B soll ein lebendiger Begegnungsort sein und anregen, Synergien zwischen öffentlichem und künstlerischem Leben zu entwickeln. Sie belebt ein kontinuierliches und generationenübergreifendes Zusammentreffen zwischen der Berner und Schweizer Kunstszene, den Gästen aus dem Ausland, Quartierbewohner*innen und der angrenzenden Hochschule der Künste Bern (HKB).

Seit März 2023 ist Alizé Rose-May Monod im Auftrag der Kunstachse für das Frühlingsprogramm der Cabane B verantwortlich. Für die Hochschule der Künste Bern hat im Herbst 2022 Lena Hoppenkamps, Assistenz des Studiengangs Vermittlung von Kunst & Design, die Koordination des Herbstprogramms übernommen.

Cabane B is an art space in the middle of the heterogeneous district VI — Bümpliz — of Bern city. It was originally designed by Parisian architect Jean Nouvel as a steel structure for the Expo02. In the first half of the year, an independent team of curators will present contemporary artistic positions. Regional, national and international artists are invited to use the space for events and exhibitions. In the second half of the year, Cabane B will become a public experimental space for students of the neighbouring Bern University of the Arts (HKB).

With interventions of contemporary artistic positions, Cabane B creates an opportunity for debate and exchange about art. It is a laboratory for site-specific discussions and focuses on interactive art projects, happenings and concerts. Cabane B is intended to be a lively meeting place and to stimulate the development of synergies between public and artistic life. It stimulates a continuous and cross-generational encounter between the Bernese and Swiss art scenes, guests from abroad, residents of the neighbourhood and the adjacent Bern University of the Arts (HKB).

Since March 2023, Alizé Rose-May Monod is responsible for the Cabane B Spring/Summer programme on behalf of the Kunstachse. In autumn 2022, Lena Hoppenkamps, assistant to the Art and Design education class, took over the coordination of the program for the Bern University of the Arts.
